- Additional books with references to the 458th

Liberator Album: B-24's of the 2nd Air Division USAAF     Mike Bailey with Tony North

A very fine pictoral history of the B-24 groups in the 2nd Air Division; several pages on the 458th.

Night Of The Intruders     Ian McLachlan

Incredible account of the April 22, 1944 mission to Hamm, Germany when German intruders shot down 17 Liberators of teh 2nd Bombardment Division over Norfolk.  The 458th and several crews are very well represented in this book.

Out of Barbed Wire, Into a Nazi Death March    Marie Kramer

Great account of three POW's in Germany.  Richard Shearer was on the Klusmeyer crew in the 755th Squadron, shot down on October 14, 1944.

Target Berlin Mission 250: March 6, 1944     Jeffrey Ethell and Dr. Alfred Price

Fantastic story about the Eighth Air Force's first successful raid on Berlin.  The 458th lost five Liberators on this raid, the highest one day loss for the group in the war.  Several 458th crews are mentioned.
